Plant-Based Recipe Swap
July 3 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Join us for our monthly Plant-Based Recipe Swap, part of Aspen Valley Hospital’s Health & Wellness programs! The event takes place in Aspen Valley Hospital’s Oden Conference Room.
July’s theme will be “Healthy Low Sugar Desserts, Mocktails and Appetizers” with Sandy Holmes, RD. It will take place on Wednesday, July 3 instead of our usual Thursday date.
In honor of Sandy Holmes retirement and Last Day at AVH, we will be having a Party Theme. How can you celebrate and still follow a whole-food plant-based diet? Come and find out!
What is plant-based?
Plant-based, or whole food, plant-based (WFPB), refers to nutrient-rich foods from plant sources, minimally processed, without added oils or chemicals. It includes vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, some nuts and seeds.
Evidence supports plant-based recipes lead to: healthier weight; lower cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar; prevention or reversal of heart disease; reduced risk of diabetes and cancer; reduced symptoms of arthritis and autoimmune diseases; and it is good for the environment and animal welfare.
